Who said Data Cabling wasn’t artistic?

Following the end of a 3 week install at a distribution centre, the last two electrical points to run the outdoor wireless were being connected as the night closed in. Top Project Engineer Dave Healey had a moment of creativity as the van lights created a moving atmosphere which he captured using his Smartphone – uploading the picture instantly back to base.

3 weeks of long days and late nights provided 50 power points, 3 fuse boards, 40 data points, 10 outdoor wireless access points and untold metres of structured cabling. Working to a tight deadline, the PW Comms engineers transformed an old distribution centre into a modern facility with network access within the centre and Wi-Fi access outside of the building to connect the mobile workers.

Not always know for his creativity, Dave said;

"It had been a long week and a successful install. There was a feeling of real contentment as the last data point was being connected. As I switched on the lights, they echoed the sentiment around the building which I snapped with my iPhone. It was a really fitting scene as the job closed to an end. Not too sure it was the same for Simon though, I probably blinded him!"

Dave and his team are off to Manchester next, to install a network within a newly built business park. Watch this space for Dave’s next "Bailey" moment!
